The sixth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 19 December 2021 on Google Meet. 17 participants including students and teachers joined the Meet. Ganga V S of III DC English hosted the meeting. Bhagyalakshmi P Ranjan of I DC English presented the book titled "Malamuzhakki" written by the famous wildlife photographer N A Naseer. The book is a collection of essays describing the writer's experiences during his journeys to the jungles. The presentation was followed by a discussion about the book and its author.

Vaksauhrudam 5
The fifth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 4 December 2021 on GoogleMeet. 22 participants including students and teachers joined the Meet. Krishnapriya Santhosh of II BA Politics hosted the programme. Elsa George of III BA English presented the book The Butterfly Effect by Rajat Chaudhari. The novel has multiple narratives presented in nine different, yet interconnected chapters. Set in a dystopian world, and having characters of diverse nationalities, the novel shows how interference with nature, even when done with good intentions, may have disastrous consequences which can affect the entire world. The presentation was followed by a discussion about various themes of the novel.

Book Lovers' Club Meeting
The Book Lovers' Club had an offline meeting on 29 November 2021 in order to discuss the activities for the coming weeks. The meeting was held in Room No 13. It was the club's first offline meeting in two years. Students from various departments participated.
Angeleena Gibi of I DC English was selected as the first year representative. Krishnapriya Santhosh and Anu M A of II DC Politics were given the responsibility of the Reader's Desk.

Vaksauhrudam 4
The fourth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 17th September 2021 on Google Meet. It commenced with Welcome Speech delivered by Krishnapriya Santhosh of II BA Politics. As part of Valmeekam, Hanna Mary Paul of II BA History talked about the well-known Malayalam author VKN.
A book presentation on Jack London's The Call of the Wild was done by Anju A Prabhu of II MA English, which was followed by a discussion. A fun quiz was also conducted, in which the participants were asked to unscramble the jumbled letters to identify names of famous fictional characters. The meeting concluded with Vote of thanks delivered by Elsa George of III BA English.

The third meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 10th September, 2021 on Google Meet. It began with a Welcome Speech delivered by Naveena Jinendran of II DC English. As part of Valmeekam, Afa Abdul Azeez of II DC English did a brief presentation on the poet T S Eliot. A book presentation on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens was done by Subhana K A of III DC BCom. A fun quiz was conducted in which the audience was asked to identify the literary works and their authors from various movie adaptations. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ganga V S of III DC English.

The first meeting of the Book Lovers' Club for the academic year 2021- 22 was held on 23rd July, 2021 on Google Meet. Gayathri Sahajan of III DC English hosted the program. Aswathy M U of II DC Economics delivered the Welcome Speech. As part of Valmeekam, Anulakshmi P of III DC Malayalam did a presentation in remembrance of the Malayalam poet, Balamaniyamma. Karthika C S of III DC History presented the novel Neermathalam Pootha Kaalam by Madhavikkutty. A Quiz was conducted in which the club members were asked to identify English and Malayalam writers from their pictures. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks by Merbin Mathew of III DC Politics.

Reading Week Celebrations
As part of Reading Week celebrations, the Book Lovers' Club, in association with St. Peter's College Library, organised an online book presentation programme, titled "Vaagdalam". One book was presented every day by the students in the form of a video recording.
Reading Day Celebrations
On 19th June 2021, as part of Reading Day celebrations, the Book Lovers' Club compiled a video which showed the importance of Reading and the significance of the Reading Day. 16 students from various departments took part in it.

Annual Report
The Book Lovers' Club conducted a total of thirteen meetings from October 2020- March 2021.
On 31 October 2020, the first meeting of this academic year was held on Google Meet in order to discuss the activities of the club for the year, in which the following students were selected as the office bearers of the club.

Owing to the circumstances induced by Covid-19, it was decided to conduct weekly online meetings on Google Meet. In spite of the limitations, students of various departments participated in the different activities of the club.
In addition to the usual Book Presentations in the weekly meetings, the club introduced a new activity called Valmeekam, a 3-5 minute long presentation about prolific writers.

Quiz
To make the meetings more interactive, informative as well as interesting, informal quizzes were introduced in which the club members participated enthusiastically. Each week, the quiz was organised in a different manner.
Online activities
During the days of examinations when it was difficult to organise weekly online meetings, we tried to avoid an inactive phase by introducing a new activity called Vagdalam. The club members posted brief book recommendations/ book reviews in the form of a write-up, an audio or a picture in the club's official WhatsApp group.

Book Donation
The Book Lovers' Club collected and donated a total of 48 books on 22 March 2021 as part of setting up a library for the Govt. Tribal UP School, Karipalangadu, Idukki, an initiative by the College Library and the Library and Information Science Department.
Competition
The annual Book Presentation competition "വാങ്മയം" organised by the club was conducted online this year in March.
The participants were asked to send their entries as 7-10 minute long video recordings. The results were announced on 5 April 2021 through the club's official WhatsApp group.

Vangmayam 2021
The Book Lovers' Club organised an online Book Presentation competition "വാങ്മയം 2021" in February- March
The participants were asked to give a brief description and a critical analysis of any book of their choice in the form of a 7-10 minute long video recording.

As part of setting up a library for the Govt. Tribal UP School, Karipalangadu, Idukki, initiated by the College Library and the Library and Information Science Department, the members of the Book Lovers' Club collected 48 books to be donated for the same.
On 22 March 2021, the teacher coordinators of the club, Smt. Nayomi Rajan, Smt. Silja Roy, and two student representatives, Gayathri Sahajan of II DC English, and Devayani S of I DC English, handed over the collected books to the College Library.

Vaaksauhrudam XII
The twelfth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 19th March 2021 on Google Meet. The meeting was hosted by Rebecca Mary George of I DC English. It began with a Welcome Speech delivered by Naveena Jinendran of I DC English. Nileena M J of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on the famous Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer as part of Valmeekam. Elsa George of II DC English presented the Malayalam novel Randidangazhi written by Thakazhi. It was followed by a detailed discussion. A quiz was conducted in which the audience was asked to identify the English/ Malayalam novel from the given list of characters. The club members participated enthusiastically in it. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Ganga V S of II DC English.

Helen Kuriakose of I DC Economics welcomed everyone to the meeting. As part of Valmeekam, Devika Unni of III DC Politics did a detailed presentation on the Malayalam writer K R Meera and her works. Afiya Biju of III DC Politics presented the novel Scion of Ikshvaku written by Amish Tripathi. A discussion on its themes followed. The tenth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 5th March 2021 on Google Meet. The meeting began with a Welcome Speech delivered by Karthika C S of II BA History. As part of Valmeekam, a video presentation on the Scottish writer and historian William Dalrymple was done by Sreehari S of II BA History. The poem Phenomenal Woman written by Maya Angelou was recited by Minu Mary of II BA English. A Book Presentation on the novel "The Unseeing Idol of Light" written by K R Meera was done by Anju A Prabhu of I MA English. A Literary Quiz was also conducted in which the members were asked to identify the English or Malayalam book from its opening line. Christina Susan Eldo of I DC Economics welcomed everyone to the meeting. As part of Valmeekam, Asmija Rajesh of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on Madhavikkutty. The poem "Sandarshanam", written by Balachandran Chullikaad, was recited by Soundarya Lakshmi R S of II DC English. Ganga V S of II DC English narrated the story "Ente Kochuthampuran", a Malayalam translation of Rabindranath Tagore's short story "The Child's Return". The eighth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 5th February 2021 on Google Meet. Sahala P A of I DC Politics welcomed the gathering. Naveena Jinendran of I DC English did a brief presentation on Sarojini Naidu. Krishnapriya Santhosh of I DC Politics narrated the short-story "Apangila", written by Rajasree Kumbalam. The story was about the experiences of a girl who was subjected to rape and how she decides to recover from it. The presentation was followed by a short discussion. A book identification quiz in which the club members were asked to identify the book from a pictorial representation was also conducted. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Janimol V S of I DC English.

Sneha Chacko of I DC English presented the novel Mayyazhipuzhayude Theerangalil by M Mukundan. Misriya P of II DC Malayalam did a brief talk on the malayalam writer Uroob. A Basheer special Quiz was also conducted in which the club members were asked to identify the Basheer novels from his famous quotes. Muhseena VM of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on the great Malayalam poet Kumaranasan, as part of Valmeekam. Karthika C S of II DC History recited the poem Chandalabhikshuki by Kumaranasan. Sukritha C B of I DC Politics presented Santhosh Echikanam's short story Singapore in the form of a one-act play. Also, a Character Identification Quiz was conducted as part of the club activities. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Abhimanyu Sreekumar of III DC Economics.

Ankitha Vijayan of II DC Hindi delivered the Welcome Speech. As part of Valmeekam, Krishnapriya Santhosh of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on Anil Panachooran, the Malayalam poet who passed away recently. Anjana Gopan of I DC Zoology recited the poem Meera Padunnu by Sachidananthan. Nileena M J of I DC Politics completed the Book presentation on Pratheep Chathannoor's Erul Munamb which was interrupted due to network issues in the last meeting. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Kripa Sunil of I DC Physics.
