Vaaksauhrudam VII

 

 

 

The seventh meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 29th January 2021 on Google Meet. Annsmariya Johny of I DC Politics welcomed everyone to the meeting. Sneha Chacko of I DC English presented the novel Mayyazhipuzhayude Theerangalil by M Mukundan. Misriya P of II DC Malayalam did a brief talk on the malayalam writer Uroob. A Basheer special Quiz was also conducted in which the club members were asked to identify the Basheer novels from his famous quotes. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Krishnapriya Biju of I DC English.

Vaaksauhrudam VI

 The sixth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 22nd January, 2021 on Google Meet. The meeting began with a warm welcome by Rebecca Mary George of I DC English. Muhseena VM of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on the great Malayalam poet Kumaranasan, as part of Valmeekam. Karthika C S of II DC History recited the poem Chandalabhikshuki by Kumaranasan. Sukritha C B of I DC Politics presented Santhosh Echikanam's short story Singapore in the form of a one-act play. Also, a Character Identification Quiz was conducted as part of the club activities. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Abhimanyu Sreekumar of III DC Economics.

Vaksauhrudam V

 The fifth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 15th January, 2021 on Google Meet. The meeting was hosted by Adithya Raju of II DC Maths. Ankitha Vijayan of II DC Hindi delivered the Welcome Speech. As part of Valmeekam, Krishnapriya Santhosh of I DC Politics did a detailed presentation on Anil Panachooran, the Malayalam poet who passed away recently. Anjana Gopan of I DC Zoology recited the poem Meera Padunnu by Sachidananthan. Nileena M J of I DC Politics completed the Book presentation on Pratheep Chathannoor's Erul Munamb which was interrupted due to network issues in the last meeting. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Kripa Sunil of I DC Physics.

Vaksauhrudam IV

 

The fourth meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 6th January 2021 on Google Meet. Gayathri Sahajan of II DC English hosted the meeting. Greena Susan Joseph of II DC History welcomed everyone to the meeting. Ambily Ravindran of III DC Mathematics did a presentation on Sugathakumari, the well-known Malayalam poet who passed away recently, as part of Valmeekam (weekly presentations on writers). 

A Book Presentation on Pratheep Chathannoor's Erul Munamb, (Part I) was done by Nileena M J of I DC Politics. Due to network issues, the second part was decided to be presented in the coming week's meeting. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Elsa George of II DC English.

Vaksauhrudam- III

 The third meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 20th November, 2020 on Google Meet. There were 30 participants including teachers and students. The meeting began with a warm welcome by Afiya Biju of III DC Politics.

Rebecca Mary George of I DC English did a brief talk on the famous Anglo-Irish writer and satirist, Jonathan Swift as part of Valmeekam(weekly presentations on writers).  

Annsmariya Johny of I DC Politics did a presentation on the novel "Oru Sankeerthanam Pole" written by Perumbadavam Sreedharan, which narrates the life story of the Russian writer Dostoyevsky, the trials and tribulations he faced while writing his famous novel "The Gambler" and how he overcame them all.

The meeting concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ambili Ravindran of III DC Maths.

Vaksauhrudam- II

The second meeting of the Book Lovers' Club was held on 13th November, 2020 on Google Meet. There were 42 participants including students and teachers from various departments. Soundarya Lakshmi R S of II DC English hosted the meeting. It began with a Welcome Speech delivered by Adithya Raju of II DC Maths. Devayani S of I DC English did a brief talk on Arundhati Roy as part of Valmeekam(weekly presentations on writers).  A book presentation on the novel Asuravith by M T Vasudevan Nair was done by Devika Unni of III DC Politics. She briefly presented the plot of the story and also gave her own take on the novel, its characters and the various themes presented in it. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ganga V S of II DC English.

Vaksauhrudam- I

 The activities of the Book Lovers' Club for the year 2020- 21 were initiated on 6th November, 2020 on Google Meet. There were 56 participants, including students and teachers from various departments.

Sarah Jolly of III DC English delivered the Welcome Speech. Ambili Raveendran of III DC Maths did a presentation in memory of the Malayalam poet, Akkitham, as part of the new activity called Valmeekam(weekly presentations on writers). Ganga V S of II DC English presented the novel Kadambari by Banabhatta.
Devayani S and Krishna Priya Santhosh were selected as first year representatives from English and Politics respectively. The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks by Gayathri Sahajan of II DC English.
