'Vangmayam'- 2016

                The Book Presentation Competition, 'Vangmayam' was conducted by the Club on January 20. Fifteen participants from various departments presented popular books in Malayalam and English. The Evergreen Ever rolling Trophy for the best presenter was won by Krishnapriya R. of II BA English. The second prize was awarded to Sreelakshmi S of II BA English. Sisira Sasikumar of II BSc Physics won the third prize. The judges of the event were Smt. Reeja Jose, Sri Madhu V. and Ms. Sameera from the Department of English. 

              The office bearers of the Club were acknowledged on the occasion for their services rendered towards the activities of the Club.  Prof. Jain Mathew, from the Department of English gave away the prizes. 




Athena of II BSc Physics presented a poem and a letter published in the Malayalam weekly, 'Mathrubhumi'.The poem, 'Varalcha' and the letter 'Priyappetta Ammakku' are the poignant creations of two school students, Muhammed Irfan C and Pooja Saseendran respectively.

My Days: R. K. Narayan

My Days is the autobiography of R. K. Narayan, a pioneer Indian writer in English.  The presentation threw light on some interesting facts about the writer and his experiences and friendship with popular figures of the time which helped him in his journey towards becoming a leading writer of his time.

Vagrasika- A Workshop on Book Appreciation

      A one day workshop on book appreciation, 'Vagrasika' was organised by the Book Lovers' Club on September 30, 2015. The English session in the morning was led by the veteran English professor, Dr. C. S. Jayaraman ( Amruta School of Arts and Science) and the Malayalam session in the afternoon was engaged by the popular Malayalam poet, Sri Sreekumar Mukhathala, ( Programme Executive, All India Radio). Around sixty students from degree and postgraduate courses of various departments attended the workshop.
